The Golden Rand Guild for Quilters (GRG) embraces all the Mini Guilds, Home Groups and Individuals who are involved in quiltmaking and related arts and crafts in the Gauteng area. The guild is one of the eleven Quilters' Guilds around the country affiliated to the South African Quilters Guild.

S.A.Q.G

The South African Quilter's Guild was founded in 1989 and is the governing body of quilt making in South Africa. It is a non-profit quilt-making association with 11 affiliated Regional Guilds.

Mission Statement:
To foster an environment where all South Africans can reach their full potential in quilt-making and textile related Art, nationally and internationally.

Objectives:

  • To promote and maintain a history of quilt- making and textile related Art in South Africa.
  • To organize a SA Travelling Exhibition.
  • To conduct a Quilt Judge Certificate Programme and maintain a register of qualified judges.
  • To maintain a register of accredited South African quilt teachers.
  • To compile and maintain membership list of all South African quilters.
  • To maintain a website.
  • To ensure that Rules, Regulations and Categories for National Quilt Festivals and Competitions, are complied with.
